Vietnamese AKM

Vietnamese bayonets for AKM and related rifles

There are many theories among collectors where and for who these bayonets were made. So, IMHO, there are two theories that are worth to mention here…

First, these bayonets were designed in Germany and made in Vietnam for the merchant who had a large amount of East German scabbards.

Second, these bayonets were made in Vietnam for Vietnamese army or merchant and East German scabbards were bought from Germany.

Anyway, these bayonets have unique handle among AK and related bayonets. They have a blade made of different steel than any other AK or related bayonets (probably 440C). They have East German M1959 or M1974 scabbards.

There are two models, with black and with red handle.

Some common marks on these bayonets.
